The Dr. Hodges "It Takes a Village" Foundation was founded in 2011 by Dr. Vernard Hodges. Dr. Hodges grew his successful businesses on the cornerstones of entrepreneurship and multiple income streams, and he started the Foundation to teach those lessons to the children of Middle Georgia. The Foundation instructs children in all aspects of business fundamentals, and then helps them to come up with ideas for their own businesses. Once a child produces a business idea, the Foundation assists him in starting up and financing the business.

The Foundation also provides assistance to local adults, conducting community business outreach and hosting seminars on different relevant topics given by members of the local business community. The Dr. Hodges "It Takes a Village" Foundation is well known for its annual Christmas event. Every year, the Foundation purchases Christmas gifts and spreads holiday cheer to 25 deserving Middle Georgia families.
